Bwiti “Mbounda” – small ritual “whisk broom”
Mbounda is a small hand-crafted “whish broom” made from flexible grasses, traditionally used in Bwiti ceremonies.
Description
Mbounda is a small hand-crafted “whish broom” made from flexible grasses, traditionally used in Bwiti ceremonies.
Usually is held in the left hand as a delicate receiver of spiritual signals, it complements the soki rattle in the right hand, which acts as a transmitter. The mbounda embodies gentle feminine energy and serves as a symbolic catcher of subtle spiritual currents.
The mbounda is crafted by local Bwiti artisans in Cameroon.
You can use it in a similar way as described for your own ceremonies and rituals; we recommend also obtaining a soki rattle and using both instruments together.
