Description

Ngomo (or Ngombi) is a traditional harp used in the Bwiti spiritual practice, especially during Iboga ceremonies of the Bwiti tradition.

This instrument is considered a sacred bridge between the human world and the spiritual world of the ancestors. The sound of the harp helps open perception, calm the mind, and support deep states of meditation and spiritual travels. The harp maintains a clear, resonant tone characteristic of Bwiti instruments.

Ngomo is not just a musical instrument — it is a spiritual guide. Suitable for meditation, ceremonial work, or as a powerful symbol of our Bwiti African spiritual tradition. Its sound opens the space for connection with intuition, inner voice, and the ancestors.

Each piece is handcrafted from natural African wood, it’s made by me, Mintombo, as a Bwiti master, kombo and Beti Ngombi (more about me) (person, who plays the Ngomo during our Bwiti ceremonies), which means I keep the original techniques and sacred meaning of the instrument.

Which size to choose?

Each peace of Ngomo harp can be an unique collector’s item, but in Bwiti we say that Ngomo doesn’t like it to be only a decoration, it needs to resonate and it gives you a blessing for your life. If you want to learn to play the Ngomo harp, choose:

The small size Ngomo instrument makes it ideal for travel, personal practice for beginners. For a beginner can be a little bit difficult to tune.

The medium-sized Ngomo offers a richer and deeper sound than the smaller version, while still maintaining a compact form suitable for travel. It’s ideally for beginners, it’s easy to tune and to start playing.

The big-sized Ngomo instrument is not good for beginners, it needs to know how to play and how to tune. It’s recommended for already experienced Ngomo players. It’s a temple harp.

Time of delivery

Each Ngomo is made to order. The production time is 3–4 weeks plus shipping time 1-2 weeks. Full payment is required in advance.
